Delivery and Click & Collect Information

Your Gardner & Scardifield Delivery

Where we deliver to

  • Our delivery zone covers most of Sussex. Your can test your postcode on the checkout screen

What we will do when you order/before delivery:

  • Contact you to arrange a delivery slot as soon as we process the order
  • Arrange to deliver within five (5) working days
  • Contact you about any issues with your products or delivery by telephone/email
  • Charge no delivery fee for orders costing over £150 (exc VAT). Add a £7.99 fee to orders under £150
  • Process and despatch your order from the nearest suitable Gardner & Scardifield branch
  • Make as few deliveries as possible (normally one drop)
  • Make best efforts to deliver on your chosen day and time
  • Offer you the chance to cancel and be refunded for any orders that are delayed more than 30 days from your purchase date

What we will do at delivery time:

  • Deliver to a safe and suitable kerb side location and follow safe and sensible hand-over instructions
  • Deliver in a vehicle that suits the product. For example, a large truck with a crane for heavy or bulky materials

What you must do when you order/before delivery:

  • Ensure there is safe and suitable access to the delivery site for the vehicle (including large vehicles)
  • Notify us of any access or parking restrictions in the delivery notes, or by telephone/email. No less than 24 hours before delivery. Please consider the following:
    • Restricted parts of public roads (eg, pedestrian crossings, red routes)
    • Overhead cables or trees
    • Narrow access and uneven surfaces
  • Notify us of any issues relating to your delivery as soon as possible. For example, changes in your availability or conditions of the site

What you must do at delivery time:

  • Take full responsibility if you direct our drivers off the public highway: full responsibility for the safety of your delivered products, our vehicles, your property and any third parties. You will be required to sign this form: Private property delivery access disclaimer 2024
  • Take full responsibility for the product from unloading (hand-over) onward

What you must do afterwards:

  • Check the delivered products for faults or damage as soon as possible (within 2 days). Notify the driver on site, or the branch by telephone/email as soon as possible. Next steps detailed on our Issues and returns page
  • Take full responsibility for any issues that affect your projects, contractors or third parties: we advise you to avoid booking tradespeople or other contractors until you have received and checked your order

Issues with deliveries

  • If we are unable to deliver for any of the following reasons, we will contact you to arrange redelivery subject to a charge:
    • No suitable adult on site to receive and sign for delivery
    • Unsuitable or unsafe delivery conditions
  • If an arranged delivery does not arrive as expected, please contact us as soon as possible
  • If some of the products on your order are delayed by more than 7 days, we will notify you as soon as possible and may offer a split delivery

Your Gardner & Scardifield Click & Collect

What we will do:

  • Aim to have in-stock product ready to collect within 24 hours
  • Transfer product within our network to your nominated branch within 3 working days
  • Notify you as soon as product is ready for collection by telephone/email
  • Keep your order in readiness for 7 days from nominated collection date
  • Remind you about uncollected goods by telephone/email
  • Refund uncollected orders 14 days after missed collection and return products to stock holdings
    • We will advise on the arrangements and applicable charges. These may include:
      • Up to 30% of the product value as restocking fee
    • Products that are made to specification cannot be refunded. For example; cut timber, cut-to-length cable, colour-matched paint, or pre-mixed aggregates, liquids or powders

What you must do:

  • Bring proof of purchase (confirmation email) your payment card and proof of ID to make collection
    • If you nominate someone to make your collection, they must have purchase documents as well as their proof of ID
  • Notify us as soon as possible if you want to amend, cancel or reschedule your collection
  • Check the collected products for faults or damage as soon as possible. Notify us at the point of collection or by telephone/email as soon as possible (within 24 hours)
  • Take full responsibility for any issues that affect your projects, subcontractors or third parties. We advise you to avoid booking tradespeople or other contractors until you have received and checked your order
