Gardner & Scardifield is a local family owned Builders Merchants, Electrical Wholesalers and DIY Suppliers based in Lancing, but operating throughout Sussex. We have a long and fascinating history of circa 100 years, and have been under current ownership since the 1970’s.

Responsibilities and Duties
Support the organisation of the yard and deliveries, keeping the yard in good and clean condition.
Showcase stock knowledge and an enthusiasm to help the customer Support stock management of the branch, ensuring proper procedures are followed
Excellent customer service skills.
Assist Sales staff in busy periods with Counter Sales Unloading and checking goods inwards and checking outward delivery notes
Ensuring all deliveries are well organised, delivered in a timely fashion and given to the customer in an excellent condition
Providing excellent customer service and being a good representative of the company when driving company vehicles, handling all customers, suppliers, colleagues and other road users with courtesy at all times
Carry out general maintenance to vehicles (e.g. greasing, fluid levels) and ensure cleanliness of vehicle
Awareness of own safety and ability to see the yard operate in a safe manner at all times, adhering to all Health & Safety requirements
Qualifications and Skills
Drivers licence is required
Previous experience of working in the building trade is preferred
An enthusiasm for teamwork, to work hard and learn is essential.
Organised and Punctual
Good Communication skills
Forklift licence is beneficial
